Board Election Voting: November 16-December 6
After the Board Development Committee has finished the nomination process, it then will create ballots that include candidate bios. Candidate information and voting instructions will be listed on this site. Each student’s parents and/or legal guardians will have one vote. Each school employee will also have one vote.
Once all votes are in and tabulated, the new appointed Board of Directors will be notified, sign the Board Member Profile Agreement, and take their place on the Board of Directors at the February 1st, 2024 board meeting.
Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy
School Board Election 2023
DUE by November 15th, 2023 to be included on the ballot.
All SIX board member positions are open for re-election this year.
The Board of Directors must be composed of at least five members, each serving a one year term, who are not related or affiliated with one another, with at least one of each of the following: 1) licensed teachers teaching in the classroom; 2) a parent or legal guardian who is not an employee of Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy; and 3) a community member who is not an employee or parent of Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy. Immediate family members of school employees, non-teaching employees of MELA, and employees of MELA's vendors are not eligible to serve on the Board.
