NWEA

The Northwestern Evaluation Association (NWEA) and their Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment or MAP for Primary Grades K-2 (MPG) are assessments taken three times per year and used to drive instructional decision making by teachers and report student progress using the RIT (Rasch Unit) scale. The RIT scale is a curriculum scale that uses individual item difficulty values to estimate student achievement.

Benchmarks

NWEA provides critical benchmarks for students academic success in 2 ways:
How a student's performance measures in absolute terms as compared to students nationally.
How a student is growing from testing period to testing period as compared to students nationally.
